Dedication of Memorial Bench
A dedication ceremony was held to honor Gary Bordoni on Monday, July 23rd before the Elks League. According to guest speaker John Perko, Gary would love it if you would give the bench a quick pat when you’re near the men’s tee box on #5, just to say “Hello”. Gary passed on January 24, 2024.
Healthy Youth Tournament 2024
On June 1st, Newman hosted the Healthy Youth Tournament. It was the culmination of a five week program coordinated by GIAC to give a weekly golf lesson to children interested in the sport of golf. Over 14 children participated in the tournament this year.
2024 Junior Club Championship
On August 21st, the Junior Club Championship was completed despite the passing rain storms. Nineteen junior members competed.

2024 City Championship
August 24th was the first day of the two weekend-long City Tournament. Twenty-six participants competed in match play to determine this year’s champion.
The final match saw defending champion Dan Mazza versus Jamie Hinman with Mazza getting the win again.
Semi-finalists included Brian Welch and Tim McCabe.
First Flight winner was Craig Wiggers, and the Championship Consolation winner was Todd Schack.
City work on Clubhouse
This summer the City of Ithaca replaced rotting boards from the exterior of the Clubhouse and painted the entire exterior. Corey and Brian did a wonderful job and it looks great. Last time the Clubhouse was painted it was a volunteer effort from the Men’s Senior Leauge.

Women’s & Senior Men’s Club Championship
On Saturday September 28th and Sunday the 29th, the Club Championships for the Senior Men and Women members was held. The Men’s title was won by James Lane, with runner up being Ed Mazza. The Women’s champion was Susan Cole, who beat opponent Shelly Pargh in a playoff hole.
